Meet the counselling@unit12 Practitioners

Our therapists are all duly accredited and registered within the professional bodies associated with their field. For example, many counsellors are registered with BACP and adhere to their ethical framework.

If you need a place to be heard, please do get in touch.

It can help to have a series of sessions so that trust can be built up.

I believe that the safer you can feel while being heard and seen allows you to share more and therefore make sense and meaning of your experience. This feeling of safety in relating allows you in-turn to feel less distressed, and make changes if that is what is sought. To achieve this safety I offer empathy, connection and a space without judgement. I am qualified to work with children, young people and adults, to supervise and to train other practitioners clinical work.

As an Integrative therapist, my focus is centred on you as the client and working in a way that is most supportive to you and your issues. I work face to face both long or short term. During our counselling together the sessions will be reviewed to make sure it is meeting your needs.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad or that something is just not quite right, then counselling may well be useful for you. I provide a calm, confidential and reflective space for you to explore any difficulties you may be experiencing. At the heart of my approach is the belief that together we can create an awareness of what is causing the current discomfort. Furnished with greater awareness, I can then support you in making the changes necessary to help restore greater equilibrium and wellness in your life.

I've dedicated my career to holistic healing, having studied in Colombia a Nursing degree and a specialisation in Occupational Health. In Switzerland I studied Complementary Therapy and cultivated expertise in various years of massage therapies.

Life can present all of us with the unexpected.  I am here to help you when life feels too much.

If you find yourself here, it may because you find yourself struggling with difficult or overwhelming life events and feelings.  Perhaps you are feeling anxious, depressed, alone, lost, angry or confused.   Perhaps you have lost someone important or have experienced a difficult or traumatic life event.  Perhaps you find yourself coping with relationships that are difficult and you feel stuck or trapped.  I am here to support you, so that you can find your way back to living the life you want to live.

You might be here because you are feeling like everything is too much, feel alone, confused, like giving up, or feel stuck in ways of being in the world that aren’t working for you…

…perhaps you feel something is missing, or you are supporting your young person to find support. Whatever the reason well done for taking this first step. Counselling can help you to make sense of your life, find acceptance, meaning and purpose; and help you to create a more fulfilling, joyful life.

I love working as a Humanistic Gestalt counsellor as it enables me to work flexibly and non-judgementally, responding to your individual needs and uniqueness. I am happy to talk, play, work with creative resources and objects to enable you to express yourself and build self-awareness and confidence.

I have experience in working with under 11’s (7 years and over), young people (11-18 years) and adult clients. I also enjoy working with clients who are on the Autistic spectrum.

As an ethical practitioner, I tailor my relational approach to meet your need. I am qualified to provide therapeutic support to adults, couples, children and young people. Through unconditional acceptance, compassion and sensitivity, I will be present to hold your unique experiences without challenge, interpretation or altering meaning. Through the collaborative relationship established, you will gain awareness, understanding and develop a greater sense of ‘self’.

I believe in offering a space that is empathic and judgement free, so that you can feel safe while exploring what matters most to you, making sense of your experiences and who you are as a result. Our world is a confusing and anxiety provoking place full of rushing and demands on your time and energy, my invitation to you is to come with curiosity and let your thoughts and feelings unfold however they need to.

The therapeutic relationship can help with feeling safe and connected. I offer a non-judgemental space for you to be heard, explore your experiences and issues, your situation, difficulties and sense of yourself, so that you may reduce your distress, grow in self-awareness and are empowered to move towards change or acceptance. It is the experience of safety and acceptance in the therapeutic relationship that can make changes you want seem possible. I am qualified and experienced in working with adults; I continue to advance my practice with a growing specialism in trauma counselling.

As an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor, my aim, with adults, children and young people, is to enable deeper understanding and growth in a warm, supportive environment. Building a deeply trusting and non-judgemental relationship between the client and myself gives space for clients to develop a more positive sense of being. Clients become increasingly able to gain a greater sense of clarity in their lives and can move forward with more freedom in their thoughts.
