Laura Chapman

Hi, I’m Laura. Woman, Mother and Clinical Hypnotherapist.

I absolutely love Hypnotherapy and I find great joy in helping people achieve their goals.

As a Hypnotherapist, I use a wide range of techniques that help my clients achieve immediate change, with long lasting results. Hypnotherapy is a collaboration; we will work together to give you the best possible therapeutic experience and allow you to gain new skills and perspectives.

I have trained at the Anglo-European College of Therapeutic Hypnosis, where I am currently a classroom assistant, which is one of only seven schools worldwide to offer certain qualifications. I am a member of the National Council of Hypnotherapists (NCH) and the UK Council of Hypnotherapy (UKHC). I am also currently undertaking a BSc (hons) through Surrey University.

 My approach

I favour a cognitive-behavioural approach to therapy, with a person-centred focus. Hypnotherapy has been proven to enhance CBT for mood disorders and I use many CBHT based techniques and exercises. I also utilise methods from other models of therapy, such as psychodynamic, Gestalt and Multimodal, depending on my clients’ needs. Every session will be personally tailored to you.

Hypnotherapy is recognised as an effective medical and scientific treatment by the British Medical Association (BMA), and has been since 1892. There is a whole wealth of evidence to support its use for many conditions and issues, as a stand-alone treatment or as an adjunct. As a solution-focused therapy, it is very different to talk therapy. We will collaborate to understand your problem and find a solution, you do not have to discuss your past in great depth.

I work with adults and children (5+).

I work with a wide variety of conditions, but predominantly focus on- Adult and Paediatric Anxiety, Depression and Self-Esteem, with a specialism in Trauma and PTSD.

Below is a list of my professional qualifications and additional training that I have undergone.

2021 Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (NCFE)

2021 Clinical Hypnotherapy Diploma

2021 Counselling Skills (Level 2)

2020 NLP Practitioner

2020 Child Psychology Diploma (Level 3 CPD)

I am also currently undertaking a BSc (Hons) in Psychology & Sociology.
