Tara Pestell

Hi, I’m Tara – a registered Nutritional Therapist with a compassionate, client-centred approach and a special interest in bulimia nervosa, binge eating, yo-yo dieting, obesity as well as gut health, hormones and blood sugar imbalances linked to disordered eating. I support adults who feel trapped in a cycle of guilt, restriction and overeating to improve their relationship with food and with themselves. By combining evidence-based nutrition with practical behavioural strategies, I help you reduce cravings, restore balance and support emotional wellbeing. My focus is always on creating long-term, sustainable change—empowering you to feel more in control, nourished and at peace with your body and mind.

 My approach

I support individuals who want to rebuild a healthier, more peaceful relationship with food. My work focuses on both the practical and behavioural aspects of eating—because disordered or emotional eating is rarely just about food. It’s about thoughts, emotions, patterns and self-worth. I offer a non-judgmental, collaborative space where you feel seen, heard, and supported.

A Safe, Non-Judgmental Space

This is a place free of shame and guilt. You set the pace—we walk the journey together. I create a safe, compassionate environment where you can explore your relationship with food and body without fear of judgment.

Behavioural Focus

Together, we’ll address the thought patterns, beliefs, and habits that keep you feeling stuck. Through reflection and gentle challenge, we work to reframe unhelpful narratives and develop new, balanced behaviours that support long-term well-being.

Practical Tools for Everyday Life

From managing cravings and emotional triggers to practicing mindful eating and body awareness, I provide actionable strategies that fit into your real life—not just your ideal one.

Evidence-Based Nutritional Guidance

My work is grounded in the latest research in nutrition. I’ll help you understand your body’s needs and how to nourish yourself in a way that feels safe, empowering and sustainable—no fear, no guilt.

Rebuilding Trust with Your Body

You’ll learn to reconnect with your natural hunger and fullness cues, move away from all-or-nothing thinking, and rebuild trust in your body’s wisdom. This isn’t about perfection—it’s about peace.

Lifelong Change, Not Quick Fixes

This isn’t a short-term solution or a restrictive plan. The goal is to help you create freedom around food and self-care that lasts—so eating becomes a nourishing, life-giving experience again.
