If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad or that something is just not quite right, then counselling may well be useful for you. I provide a calm, confidential and reflective space for you to explore any difficulties you may be experiencing. At the heart of my approach is the belief that together we can create an awareness of what is causing the current discomfort. Furnished with greater awareness, I can then support you in making the changes necessary to help restore greater equilibrium and wellness in your life.

Where I work

Face to face sessions are available in a comfortable room on the first floor of counselling@unit12 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 5 - 8pm.

Online and telephone sessions are also available - please state in your enquiry if you are interested in either of these.

 My approach

The need to meet and connect with other people is a strong human drive and the bonds we form with others can be a source of great comfort, especially during difficult times. Sometimes though, when we are feeling anxious, sad, stressed or just aware that there’s something not quite right, it can be tough to seek support from family or friends. At times like these, it can be helpful to seek counselling support from someone like myself who will listen without judgement and offers empathy, compassion and the skills necessary to help you better understand and address your discomfort.

The energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgement; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.
— Connection - Brené Brown

As a Humanistic, Integrative counsellor, I work with clients to help them develop better self-awareness and a clearer understanding of their current difficulties. Working collaboratively, I help clients shine a light on aspects of self that might be contributing to their current discomfort and then support them in enabling them to make changes. All individuals are unique and so I use a range of therapeutic techniques to suit each client and their particular needs. I offer open ended counselling, so this ranges from a few sessions to longer term work depending on a client’s needs and what is agreed. I have experience of working with adults and young people (16+), helping them with a range of issues.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and committed to their high standards of professional conduct, good practice and the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. I participate in regular professional development training to ensure my practice is both current and continually developing.

Below is a list of my professional qualifications and additional training that I have undergone.
